This site is written and built by Gary A Cain, PhD, with help from his lovely wife and brilliant daughters.

Growing up with red hair and a Southern accent meant two strikes against me right off the bat and a strong start toward a life of madness. In a particularly challenging period of insanity, I obtained an advanced degree in chemistry and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 21 years. Fortunately, I was ultimately deemed "redundant" and set free into the big, bad world with no  marketable skills outside of organic chemistry. I eventually found myself in front of the computer with too much time on my hands and a severely dysfunctional outlook on life. Thus was born humorvolcano.com, which was launched on May 12, 2009.
